I have a David Busch manual for every camera I own and I would never think of going without. Having done some technical writing myself I have a pretty good sense of what it takes to describe a camera as complex as a D700 and if Nikon were to ask for volunteers to write a manual you wouldn't see my hand go up! Yet David more than pulls it off, almost making it look easy in the process! As I tell folks who ask me for camera advice today's camera systems are so complex that reading a manual is not an option, it's a necessity! In camera exposure and focusing systems simply MUST be understood if you hope to avail yourself of their power. Skip getting up to speed and these complex systems can do as much to screw up your images as to improve them. Buy this manual, read it cover to cover, and you won't believe how much better your images will look...
