David Busch's GUIDE TO THE SONY SLT-A37 is full of useful and well-organized information about digital photography with the A-37. Some of it is beyond my present experience and a little hard to follow at times, but that's okay. I will eventually understand it (I hope). The information is well-explained, if a little too compact for my taste. My real problem with the book is the index. The way it's set forth makes it difficult to find some information (and some of the info is just not there). I spend too much time skipping around through the page numbers provided in the index before I find what I want, and sometimes not finding it at all. The things I am looking for are pretty basic, so maybe the book is too sophisticated for me. Having said that, the A-37 Guide is a very good book. It answers most of my questions, and the language in general is within the scope of my understanding. If Mr. Busch revises the index to make it more detailed and comprehensive, focuses a little more on the pragmatic rather than the technical, and elaborates a bit on basic information in the main text—such as how to use the self-timer—he will have a Five Star Book. Maybe even a Six Star. In the meantime I am going to take a look at (and probably will buy) David Busch's Compact Field Guide for the Sony Alpha SLT-A57/A37. It may be the missing link for novice photographers like me!
