Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni exercised a huge influence on the development of Western art. He is considered a nominee for the title of the archetypal Renaissance man, along with Leonardo da Vinci. Michelangelo was the first Western artist whose biography was published while he was alive. Giorgio Vasari proposed that he was the high point of all artistic achievement of the Renaissance. Eighty five drawings with a brief but informative description. I loved the portraits categorized as "ideal faces." They have a divine richness. I have to confess I liked the other drawings but didn't love them; specially the anatomy of women that seems, because the use of male models for both genres, a bit masculine.
